Hanoi Capital City Master Plan with a 100-year vision: Population size not exceeding 20 million people.

Hanoi (VNA 29/6) Decision No. 2512/QD-UBND dated May 13, 2026, of the Hanoi People's Committee approved the Master Plan for Hanoi Capital City with a 100-year vision. This is a strategic project of special importance for the long-term development orientation of the Capital City. According to the newly approved Decision, the Master Plan for Hanoi Capital City is built with a long-term vision of 100 years, divided into development stages until 2035, 2045, 2065, and 2085. According to the Plan, in the long-term stage until 2085 and beyond, Hanoi will basically maintain stability, controlling the population size to no more than 20 million people.
